Volume of AfDB investments in Tunisia hits $ 1.4 billion (Akinwumi Adesina)

(TAP) -The volume of investment by the African Development Fund (AfDB) in Tunisia reached $ 1.4 billion (nearly 4.2 billion dinars) in various areas such as energy, transportation, telecommunications, water, technology... President of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group Akinwumi Adesina said after his meeting Thursday afternoon with Prime Minister Youssef Chahed.

He reiterated the bank's support to Tunisia, which is more than 55 years old, stressing that the country remains its privileged partner, the Prime Ministry said in a statement.

Adesina said the issue of youth was also raised, recalling that the bank has spent a large budget to help Tunisia create jobs for this group.

The meeting also focused on the need to ensure basic infrastructure in rural areas to help farmers create large irrigated areas, which could give a fresh impetus to the agricultural sector and create a favourable business climate for foreign investors
