نشرت : 2011/03/07

March. 7, 2011 TAP - Minister of Farming and Environment Mokhtar Jalleli had talks here on Monday with Mrs Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet, French Minister of Environment, about developing Tunisian-French cooperation in the field of environment and carrying out sustainable development programs in inland provinces in Tunisia.
He called for the promotion of the existing cooperation in matters of environment saying that the transitional period Tunisia is living through needed to meet, as soon as possible, the requirements of development in inland areas to secure a fair distribution of wealth through planning job-generating ventures in priority regions.
The French Minister stressed in turn the need to increase bilateral cooperation in several environment fields such as sanitation, fight against pollution, coastline protection and waste management.
The point is also, she said, to increase environment protection in inland regions and reinforce balance and decentralization and favor the improvement of local skills and the development of relations between structures, enterprises and environment programs in the two countries.
Both sides reviewed the different fields of cooperation and means to boost them in the near future.
