Youssef Chahed arrives in Burkina Faso, second stage of his African tour

The President of the Government Youssef Chahed arrived Tuesday afternoon in Ouagadougou, capital of Burkina Faso, the second stage of an African tour from April 3 to 6, including Mali after his first visit to Niger on Monday.

The President of the Government, who is leading a delegation of several ministers and more than 100 businessmen, was seen in by Burkina Faso Prime Minister Paul Kaba Thiéba.

Chahed said upon his arrival at the Ouagadougou airport that his visit "is part of strengthening the African dimension of Tunisia and the development of an equal cooperation with Burkina Faso in the service of the two countries’ development ".

He underlined that the opening of Tunisia’s embassy in the capital of Burkina Faso "reflects a political will to strengthen and diversify the bilateral cooperation".

In turn, the Burkinabe Prime Minister said that the visit of Youssef Chahed "will be an opportunity to examine political, diplomatic and regional issues of common interest and discuss ways to develop economic cooperation between the two countries.

"We aspire to strengthen our economic relations with Tunisia in order to boost development in both countries and in response to the democratic change they are experiencing," he said.
