(TAP) – “The disheartening speech delivered lately by some politicians and experts has greatly undermined trust in the State,” The President of the Government Youssef Chahed said on Tuesday.

Speaking at the inauguration of the “Nation Tower" building, former headquarters of the disbanded Constitutional Democratic Rally (RCD) that will now house the new premises of the Ministry of State Property and Land Affairs, Chahed said “we should renounce pessimistic and self-flagellation speeches and focus political speeches on important subjects and issues experienced by citizens such as employment and high living costs, the adequate solutions of which should be found.”

The PG voiced conviction that “the economy will recover this year thanks to the revival of tourism and resumption of the phosphate production after six years of low output.”

Regarding the situation in Tataouine, Chahed promised to present, during his Thursday’s visit to the region, a set of measures and decisions that can be implemented within a certain period of time.

The state is “sufficiently determined to overcome the economic and social difficulties faced by young Tunisians,” the PG further promised.
