Cabinet meeting on preparations for Ramadan, tourist season and budget implementation

(TAP) – Government spokesman Iyed Dahmani said in a statement to the press that the cabinet meeting held on Friday in Kasbah palace focused on the general situation in the country, preparations for the tourist season, domestic trade and the state of the implementation of the State budget for 2017.

He said that the Minister of Industry and Trade made a briefing on market supply and preparations for the month of Ramadan. Prices for some food products declined during the last period, as a result of the intensification of control of distribution channels and market supply points for agricultural and food products.

The President of the Government also asserted the commitment of the Department of Industry and Trade to increase economic controls during the coming period, namely the month of Ramadan, to ensure the good supply of the market and to protect the purchasing power of the consumer.

As regards the current tourist season, the presentation in the cabinet meeting reveals a 37% increase in tourist arrivals until April 30, 2017 compared to the same period last year, mostly are European and Algerian tourists.

Concerning the implementation of the State budget for 2017, there is a noticeable improvement in the disbursement of the State Budget compared to the 2016 budget, which includes the various ministries, structures and services.
