Chahed and Le Drian emphasise importance of pursuing conversion of debts into development projects

(TAP) – The President of the Government Youssef Chahed, and French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian, who met at the Kasbah on Monday, stressed the importance of continuing the conversion of Tunisia’s debts into economic and social development projects.

According to a statement by Presidency of the government, the meeting discussed the development of the Tunisian-French co-operation relations and ways to expand them.

Chahed and Le Drian agreed to hold the first meeting of the Tunisian-French Political Dialogue Council by the end of 2017.

According to the same statement, the meeting also gave way to an exchange of views on all regional issues.

Le Drian seized the opportunity to welcome the steps taken by Tunisia on the road to democratic transition and the efforts made by the national unity government in the fight against terrorism and corruption.
