"Our role is to support Tunisian government to implement its priorities by achieving rapid economic growth" (WB VP for MENA)

(TAP) - The President of the Government Youssef Chahed met on Tuesday evening at Dar Dhiafa Carthage with Vice President of the World Bank for the Middle East and North Africa, Hafez Ghanem.

Ghanem said he briefed The President of the Government on the current and future co-operation projects between Tunisia and the Bank, stressing his keenness to raise the level of co-operation in order to achieve rapid and steady economic growth rates.

The World Bank VP said: "I assured The President of the Government that our partnership with Tunisia is very important. We will continue to support Tunisia in achieving the priorities set by its government."

The meeting also discussed the joint projects between Tunisia and the World Bank for the Middle East and North Africa in the fields of infrastructure, electricity and water, as well as small and medium enterprises generating significant jobs in many fields including agriculture, industry, trade and tourism.
