Tunisia-French cooperation council: signing of several agreements

(TAP) – Several agreements between Tunisia and France were signed Thursday in Tunis at the end of the first meeting of the Tunisian-French High Cooperation Council held Thursday at Dar Dhiafa palace in Carthage under the chairmanship of The President of the Government Youssef Chahed, and French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe.

The agreements signed concern in particular the fields of finance, business creation, development, financing of programmes to stimulate investment and microfinance.

They also affect the fields of modernisation of farms, renewable energies, training, higher education and technological research.

- Framework Agreement on the project of University Institutes of Technology (IUT / Higher Institutes for Technological Studies).

- Financing agreements for the Investment Recovery and Farm Modernisation Programme amounting to € 62 million.

- Financing agreement for a credit line granted to Amen Bank worth 15.3 million Euros to support the microfinance sector.

- Financing agreement for an AFD green credit line to the International Bank Union (IUB) for an amount of 15 million Euros.

- Letter of intent for budget support to reforms related to the governance of the state.

- Joint statement on the establishment of the operational representation of the Atomic Energy and Alternative Energies Commissariat (CEA) in Tunis.

- Memorandum of understanding between "AfricInvest" and "Agoranov" as part of the development of a network of Hubs in Tunisia and Africa dedicated to entrepreneurship and innovative startups.
