(TAP) - The President of the Government Youssef Chahed on Thursday urged the administration to act impartially in the upcoming municipal elections.

In a circular addressed to ministers, secretaries of state, governors, presidents of special delegations and directors general of public institutions and corporations, Chahed called on the administration to work to foster a climate of fair competition between the different electoral lists, in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution and the law.

The document recommends not to use the staff, means or resources of the administration in the service of election campaigns.

It stresses the need to interact objectively and in total integrity with all candidates, without any favouritism towards a particular list or influence on the will of voters during the electoral campaign.

The Board of Independent High Authority for Elections (ISIE), on Thursday, set the final date of municipal elections for March 25, 2018.
