Tunisia and Jordan sign eleven agreements

(TAP) - Tunisia and Jordan, on Thursday, signed eleven co-operation agreements in the fields of economy, culture and higher education, at the close of the 9th Tunisian-Jordanian High Joint Commission.

Minutes of the committee meeting, held from November 21 to 23, 2017, were also signed at a ceremony held at the Kasbah Government Palace under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Youssef Chahed and Jordanian Prime Minister Hani Al-Mulki.

The agreements were initialed by Foreign Ministers Khemaies Jhinaoui, Minister of Transport Radhouane Ayara, Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts Salma Elloumi and Trade Minister Omar El Behi, representing the Tunisian side as well as the Jordanian Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, Yarub Qudah, representing the Jordanian side.

Here follows the list of signed agreements:

- Agreement in the field of maritime transport

- Memorandum of understanding on mutual recognition of seafarers' certificates

- Accord in the field of ports

- Establishment of a programme to implement cultural co-operation for the years 2018-2019-2020

- Memorandum in the field of consumer protection

- Memorandum of understanding in the field of export promotion

- Co-operation agreement in the field of crafts and trades

- Establishment of a programme to implement tourism co-operation for the years 2018-2020

- Memorandum of co-operation in the field of planning and implementation of industrial cities

- Memorandum of understanding in the area of ​​free trade areas

- Technical co-operation protocol in the field of investment.
