(TAP) – Prime Minister Youssef Chahed received on Tuesday the annual report of the Office of the Ombudsman for 2016.

The report was handed over to the Premier by Ombudsman Abdessatar Ben Moussa, a Prime Ministry statement reads.

Ben Moussa said at the end of the meeting that he had discussed with Chahed the Office of the Ombudsman’s activities and the nature of complaints lodged at the central and regional levels.

According to him, the Office of the Ombudsman’s services had successfully treated 50% of the complaints.

Abdessatar Ben Moussa further said that he had reviewed with Chahed difficulties related to administrative correspondences, response to these correspondences and enforcement of administrative decisions.

“The Premier had endeavoured to reactivate a monitoring unit for the enforcement of administrative decisions that was launched since 2013,” he added.

“This annual report includes recommendations and proposals for the reform of the administrative system and amendment of outdated applicable laws,” he explained.

In this respect, Ben Moussa said that he will meet with House of Peoples’ Representatives (HPR) Mohamed Ennaceur as a representative of the legislative power so as to present him these proposals.
