Cabinet meeting adopts draft law approving Euro-Mediterranean MoU

(TAP) – The cabinet meeting, held Thursday afternoon, at the Kasbah government palace, adopted a draft organic law approving a Euro-Mediterranean Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) establishing the partnership between Tunisia, the European Community and its Member States and taking into consideration the accession of Bulgaria and Romania to the EU.

The meeting reviewed a report on the national export promotion plan, which implements "Export as a top priority" programme, which aims to develop exports, diversify markets, facilitate access to finance and ensure exports, according to a statement of the Prime Ministry.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Youssef Chahed called for a concerted approach between the various ministries and sectors involved in exporting, developing logistics (air and sea transport), facilitating procedures and accompanying small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in their access to export markets.

The cabinet meeting reviewed the strategic plan of the Ministry of Agriculture, Hydraulic Resources and Fisheries and its infrastructure projects during the 2018-2020 period.

It also reviewed the report of the sectoral committee responsible for the social fund reform plan and adopted a number of draft decrees related to the civil service, institutions and public institutions.
