(TAP)- The national employment strategy and the socio-economic situation was the focus of a Cabinet meeting chaired Wednesday by Premier Youssef Chahed.

The meeting reviewed a report on the national employment strategy which is articulated around three main thrusts.

The latter consist in support for job creation by means of setting up the legal framework for entrepreneurs, the creation of a new generation of entrepreneurs and embracing an approach that rests on the match between supply and demand in the labour market.

This approach involves increasing student capacity of training institutions, developing a legal framework for social and solidarity economy, identifying large employers and enhancing the employability of job seekers.

The national scheme is also designed to address the structural causes of unemployment by means of reconsidering active labour market programmes. An executive work plan of the national employment strategy will be devised in the course of the year.

A number of draft individual decrees on civil service and public establishments and enterprises were also adopted.
