Co-operation relations between Tunisia, JICA reviewed as Chahed meets with JICA president

(TAP) – Prime Minister Youssef Chahed received on Monday at Kasbah palace President of the Japan International Co-operation Agency (JICA) Shinichi Kitaoka.

The meeting mainly turned on co-operation relations between Tunisia and the JICA in the development and investment fields, Kitaoka said affirming that “these multilateral relations will grow in the future through financing by the agency of new projects in Tunisia,” a statement reads.

He further highlighted “the importance of the Tunisian investment climate and the geographic positioning of the country in the development of foreign investments,” evoking “the willingness of several businessmen, economic decision-makers and Japanese enterprises to divert their investments towards Tunisia, in addition to the interest granted by Japan to Tunisia as a tourist destination.”

He also evoked the co-operation between Tunisia and JICA in the SMEs development field, noting that his country’ experience has proved itself in other countries.”

Japan will double, in the upcoming period, the number of Tunisian students seeking to pursue their education in Japan, he indicated while expressing his country’s willingness to provide all conditions for a scientific and technological success.
