The ceremony was held in the presence of President Beji Caid Essebsi, Premier Youssef Chahed, Speaker of the House of Peoples’ Representatives (HPR) Mohamed Ennaceur and representatives of parties and international organisations.

The State is committed to its regulatory role and endeavours to ensure social equality, economic comfort and decent work for all, he indicated.

Trabelsi further stressed that the tripartite sector-based social security committee under from the social contract has managed to find consensual solutions on urgent measures to be taken so as to handle financial difficulties facing the retirement systems in the public and private sectors.

The committee is also currently working on including them in a consensual project in order to get the social security funds out of the crisis.

He further highlighted the importance of national consensus in drafting a national professional risks map in Tunisia that will be the first of its kind at the African and Arab levels.

The ceremony also provided an opportunity to pay tribute to several enterprises and workers who have distinguished themselves by their spirit of responsibility, performance and productivity
