PM meets with EU's Bergamini, G7 Ambassadors

(TAP)- Premier Youssef Chahed Friday met in Dar Dhiafa, Carthage, with European Union (EU) Ambassador to Tunisia Patrice Bergamini as well as with G7 Ambassadors in Tunis.

The Group of Seven (G7) includes France, Germany, Canada, Italy, the United Kingdom, Japan and the United States.

The half-yearly meeting fits within continuous consultation between the Tunisian government and its key partners.

Emphasis was laid on the need to underpin political transition and further cement it through economic growth and social development, Development, Investment and International Cooperation Minister Zied Laadhari told reporters after the meeting.

Participants underlined the need for Tunisia to garner the support of its partners and cooperate with G7 countries to advance economic and social reforms.

Laadhari also said the meeting offered the opportunity for G7 countries to renew their support for the democratic process and congratulate Tunisia on the success of its first free municipal elections.

The talk was also attended by Minister of Industry and Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Slim Feriani and Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Sabri Bachtobji
