(TAP) - After a meeting of almost an hour on Thursday at the Bardo Palace, both Speaker of the House of People’s Representatives (HPR) Mohamed Ennaceur and Prime Minister Youssef Chahed refused to give a statement to the media on the content of their meeting.

In a press release after the meeting, the HPR said that it had focused on the political, economic and social situation which requires a responsible debate between the various stakeholders to find solutions to iron out the difficulties facing the country and place the national interest above all other considerations, in order to restore the confidence of Tunisians in the future, give hope to the younger generations and reinforce solidarity among all the categories of Tunisian society.

On its Facebook page, the Prime Ministry specifies, for its part, that it is a co-ordination meeting between the two sides without giving further details
