General situation at heart of security meeting chaired by PM

(TAP) – A security meeting was held on Wednesday at the Interior Ministry under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Youssef Chahed.

The meeting, held two days after a suicide attack downtown Tunis, discussed the general security situation in the country and reviewed the Interior Ministry’s preparations ahead of the upcoming events, the Ministry said in a brief statement.

The meeting was attended by Interior Minister Hichem Fourati and several security officials.

TAP could not get further details on the content of this meeting.

A woman blew herself up last Monday at 13:55 in front of the Municipal Theater at Habib Bourguiba Avenue downtown Tunis, according to Interior Ministry spokesman Sofiène Zaâg.
