29th Carthage Film Days: "Triumph of culture is setback for terrorism and extremism" (Youssef Chahed)

(TAP) – Prime Minister Yousouf Chahed said at the opening of the 29th edition of the Carthage Film Days at the culture city on Saturday that "the triumph of culture is a setback to terrorism, violence and extremism."

"The message launched by this new edition of Carthage Film Days is that culture will triumph," he said in a statement to the press.

The opening ceremony of the 29th edition (November 3 to 10, 2018) took place at the Culture city Opera, in a festive atmosphere and under the sign of regulation and security.

The ceremony, organised for the first time in the Culture City, brought together a host of Tunisian, Arab and African film stars, several political and media personalities as well as representatives of diplomatic missions in Tunisia.

This year, the festival presents more than 200 films from 47 countries in different categories, produced in 2017 and 2018, including 54 Arab films and 15 films in preview at the Arab and African scale
