2018 Women Manager Trophy: Three women managers distinguished

(TAP) – Three women managers were rewarded on Thursday at the first edition of the Female Manager of the Year Trophy launched by the Confederation of Tunisian Citizens’ Enterprises (CONECT).

These three women told TAP the secrets of their professional success during the awards ceremony.

Electrical engineer by training, the private sector winner, Henda Essafi Rekik, general manager of the company Faurecia, said she "had 27 years of professional experience, in various sectors and in particular that of the automotive industry".

She started as a "process engineer" and evolved to the position of managing director of Faurecia (950 jobs), while also going through quality management. Its leadership strategy is "geared towards involving all teams with a performance perspective, while respecting the specificity of each profile and the context in which it evolves".

The NGO / Associations laureate, Chéma Gargouri, president and founder of the Tunisian Association for Management and Social Stability (TAMSS), a national NGO specialised in economic and social inclusion, also "took up the challenge of investing in people and human development ".

She started TAMSS with 10 thousand dinars of her personal money. Today, TAMSS has a turnover of more than $ 1 million / year and has created more than 40 jobs in Tunis and the regions where it operates.

Gargouri "delegates, trusts and recognises the efforts of his associates. She also knows her limits and goes beyond them by bringing skills to her team".

For her part, public sector laureate Lamia Ben Mime, head of ministerial cabinet at the Ministry of Development, Investment and International Cooperation, says she "chose to continue her studies at ENA to engage in the public service and integrate an elite body that is "the Audit" which she joined in 2004 as an assistant advisor.

She was then in charge of the CSR programme at ETAP, managing two important funds dedicated to strengthening entrepreneurship and private initiative in the governorates of Kebili and Tataouine. In 2016, she was appointed head of ministerial cabinet.

Ben Mime recognizes that she owes her success to her father, who was a simple civil servant but who has always encouraged her to climb the ladder.

The Women Manager of the Year Trophy, launched by CONECT in collaboration with international and national partners and aimed at promoting women's economic leadership in Tunisia, will now be an annual event.
