Chinese delegation calls for privileged partnership with Tunisia

(TAP) - President of the Chinese Solidarity Fund Chu Fe called for the establishment of a privileged partnership with Tunisia focused on boosting investment, exchange of experiences and encouragement of Chinese tourists to visit Tunisia.

He was speaking after a meeting Monday in the Kasbah Palace between Prime Minister Youssef Chahed and chairman of the Tunisian-Chinese Co-operation Council, accompanied by a delegation of business operators led by President of the World Public Diplomacy Organisation (WPDO) Ma Zhenxuan.

The meeting discussed ways to encourage Chinese students to continue their studies in Tunisia, he added.

The Chinese delegation expressed willingness to co-operate with the Tunisian authorities to rebuild the city of Takelsa (Nabeul governorate) which suffered material and human damage caused by the floods (September 2018), the Prime Ministry said in a statement.

The meeting between Chahed and the Chinese delegation concertises Tunisia's accession to the the "Belt and Road" initiative
