(TAP special correspondent Faten Barouni) – Prime Minister Youssef Chahed met, on Tuesday afternoon, with Algerian Foreign Affairs Minister Abdelkader Messahel.

The meeting took place on the fringes of the annual World Economic Forum held January 22-25 in Davos (Switzerland).

It discussed the preparations for the 22nd Tunisian-Algerian High Joint Commission meeting due in the first half of 2019 and efforts to be made by both countries to solve regional issues, including the Libyan crisis.

The upcoming Arab Summit to be hosted by Tunisia in March 2019 is a good opportunity to overcome differences on several issues of joint interest in the Arab world and reactivate the Arab joint action, the Algerian minister said.

Chahed is expected to also meet with Rwanda's President Paul Kagame, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and other representatives of international and regional financial institutions, including president of the African Development Bank (AfDB), president of Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) and president of the Japan International Co-operation Agency (JICA).
