(TAP) - Prime Minister Youssef Chahed set out his government’s economy roadmap at a meeting Thursday in Paris that brought together Medef employer federation and the Tunisian Confederation of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts (French : UTICA).

The main reforms to be undertaken to improve the business environment and increase Tunisia’s attractiveness were likewise outlined.

Medef and UTICA will have the opportunity during the Summit of the Two Shores, set for next June 24 in Marseille, to demonstrate willingness to seek - along with other 5+5 Dialogue member states employer organisations- wider Euro-Mediterranean integration, the driving force behind peace, stability and employment.

The two organisations will seek to hold a meeting in Tunis in autumn 2020 on economic francophonie, as part of the XVIII Summit of La Francophonie in 2020.

The Prime Minister was briefed by Tunisian and French enterprises about their projects underway in Tunisia in such sectors as industry, services, energy infrastructure and transport, etc.

A string of meetings intended to scale up economic cooperation were held by Medef and UTICA on day two of Premier Youssef Chahed’s official France visit
