Cabinet meeting approves series of bills and government decrees

(TAP) - A Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday at the Kasbah Government Palace, under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Youssef Chahed has approved a series of economic bills and government decrees.

 

The meeting also reviewed the progress of the implementation of the 2019 state budget and the priorities of the government’s action in several sector.

 

The draft laws are the following:

 

- Draft law on the issuance of a loan by the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT), on behalf of the Tunisian State, on the international financial market subject of the agreements concluded between the BCT and a number of foreign financial institutions.

 

- Draft law on the loan guarantee agreement signed on January 8, 2019 between Tunisia and the African Development Bank (AfDB) granted to the National Sanitation Utility (ONAS).

 

The loan will contribute to financing of the sanitation programme for small municipalities with less than 10 thousand inhabitants (first tranche).

 

- Draft law on the Guarantee Agreement signed on January 8, 2019 between Tunisia and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) on the loan granted to ONAS to fund the sanitation programme of 33 priority cities (less than 10 thousand inhabitants).

 

- Draft law on the loan agreement signed on January 28, 2019 between Tunisia and the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD) to finance the Tasa and Kalled dam project.

 

- Draft law on the adoption of a credit agreement signed on October 22, 2018 between Tunisia and the French Development Agency (AFD) to help finance an urban redevelopment programme.

 

- Draft law on the adoption of a guarantee agreement on first demand signed on January 4, 2019 between the Republic of Tunisia and AFD.

 

It concerns the credit granted to the Tunisian Electricity and Gas Company (STEG) to finance the smart grid project.

 

- Draft law on the adoption of a loan agreement signed on December 12 between the Republic of Tunisia and the German Development Bank (KFW) to finance the programme to support reforms in the water sector.

 

- Draft law on the improvement of the business climate.

 

- Draft Law on the transfer of state assets, rights and commitments relating to land border post to the National Office of Land Border Crossings (ONPFT)

 

- Draft law on the adoption of documents from the 24th Universal Postal Congress.

 

- Draft law on the adoption of documents from the 25th Universal Postal Congress

 

The draft decrees are the following:

 

- Thirteen draft decrees on the establishment of the land borders of the following municipalities: Tébourba, Douar Hicher, Mornaguia, in the governorate of Manouba,  Metlin, Mateur, Ousja, Menzel Jemil in the governorate of Bizerte, Zarta, Hama, Matmata, new Matmata in the governorate of Gabes, Rihal in the governorate of Sidi Bouzid and Tejerouine in the governorate of Kef

 

- Draft decree on the completion of Decree No. 3549 of 2013 dated August 23, 2013 and related to the creation of a management by objectives unit at the Ministry of Industry to implement a development programme of sugar cane cultivation.

 

- Draft decree on the amendment and completion of Decree No. 292 of the year 2009 dated February 2, 2009 and relating to defining the scope of the advance on vocational training tax, its rates, methods and conditions for enjoying it as well as the scope of the drawing rights and ways and conditions of enjoying them
