Prime Minister inaugurates exhibition showcasing Tunisian women's achievements

(TAP)- Prime Minister Youssef Chahed Saturday inaugurated a national exhibition in Habib Bourguiba avenue, Tunis, which showcases the achievements of Tunisian women.

He honoured female trade unionists and civil society activists as well as senior officials in recognition of their efforts in a wide range of sectors.

Chahed told reporters the battle will continue till Tunisian women enjoy their full rights in all fields and urged concerned actors to ensure the enforcement of laws in their favour.

A better future for women is a shared responsibility for Tunisia takes pride in their demonstrated merit.

Civil society components are likewise urged to collaborate with the government to secure an effective enforcement of relevant laws, particularly the law on violence against women.

The Prime Minister said rural women need to join as soon as possible Ahmini (protect me) mobile service launched Saturday to have social security benefits.

The Ministry of Women, Family, Children and Elderly Affairs, the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries as well as the Social Affairs Ministry will conduct an awareness campaign to encourage rural women to access social security benefits.

This three-day exhibition will shed light on the achievements of Tunisian women in the Army, the National Guard, customs and penal institutions as well as in such areas as literature, poetry, health and scientific research
