Arab and Chinese business people call for stronger socio-economic cooperation

(TAP) - Participants in the 8th Sino-Arab Business Forum and the 6th session of the Investment Conference held in Tunis, on Tuesday, called for boosting co-operation in infrastructure projects (roads, railways, ports, electricity production ...), "which projects could contribute to socio-economic development in the Arab countries and also in China".

 In their "Tunis Declaration", the Arab and Chinese delegations stressed the need to support Arab and Chinese small and medium-sized enterprises for more growth opportunities, particularly through the public-private partnership (PPP).

They also called for enhanced co-operation in the field of digital technology, artificial intelligence, e-commerce for a high-quality digital infrastructure, to promote exchanges between research and research institutions and build capacity to face the challenges of the 4th industrial revolution.

Nearly 600 participants at the forum highlighted the need to strengthen the Sino-Arab co-operation in the financial field and boost cooperation between audit institutions.

 Speakers also placed emphasis on co-operation between agricultural organisations, incentives to transfer technology and research and joint development activities, and co-operation in the creation of agricultural projects and developing agricultural, industrial and technological sectors.

The forum aims to boost economic and trade co-operation and strengthen economic and social growth, including within the framework of "Belt and Road" initiative.

The next edition (9th) of the Sino-Arab Business Forum and the 6th session of the investment conference will be held in China in 2021
