(TAP) – Every June 21 and 22 of each year will be instituted as Administration Days, Prime Minister Youssef Chahed announced on Thursday.

Services of the Prime Ministry are drafting a vision to develop and better organise the administrative services, he affirmed on the occasion of the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the National Administration School (French: ENA 1949-2019).

The Administration Days will become a space of dialogue between the Tunisian administration and the stakeholders, including academic and training institutions, civil society, private sector and social partners, he explained.

Choosing the June 21 as the celebration date coincides with the Tunisification of ENA (June 21, 1956), with a special meaning as it recalls the Tunisians’ commitment in the building process of the modern State.

Speaking about the services development of ENA that was created under a decree issued by Mohamed Lamine Bey on February 3, 1949, Chahed pointed out that three key elements will be taken into account, in addition to encouraging openness and distinction.

ENA has contributed to the creation of the first core of Tunisian human resources in different public structures and to training administrative officials.

The Premier further stressed that ENA’s modernisation will be based on the development of its training system and consulting services as well as a greater openness on neighbouring countries.

He also highlighted the modernisation of the administrative expertise and research centre within the ENA with a view to transform it into an operation and prospection centre in the administration field.

For his part, Minister of Civil Service, Modernisation of Administration and Public Policy Kamel Morjane shed light on ENA’s leading role. This institution, one of the Republic’s gains, was mainly created to invest in human resources, he revealed.

He recalled on this occasion ENA’s numerous achievements so as to lay the groundwork for a Tunisian modern administration.

According to ENA statistics, some 18,513 individuals have graduated from this institution since its creation in 1949.

A documentary exhibition on the celebration of the 70th anniversary of ENA was organised in collaboration with the National Archives Institution and the National Documentation Centre. The exhibition outlined ENA’s main publications and pictures and art works by ENA graduates
