(TAP)- Prime Minister Youssef Chahed had a talk Tuesday in Dar Dhiyafa, Carthage, with Minister of Social Affairs Mohamed Trabelsi and Transport Minister Hichem Ben Ahmed.

Problems faced by Tunisian expatriates when returning home for summer holidays took centre stage.

A package of decisions was announced, including 500 free tickets on Tunisair flights for low-income households, in coordination with the Social Affairs and Transport ministries, and 300 free ferry tickets provided by the Tunisian Navigation Company (French: CTN), the Prime Ministry said in a press release.

One car for each recipient household is taken free of charge on the ferry.

An Airbus A330 was also chartered and 35 additional flights scheduled with 20,000 seats on sale, that is 10,000 passengers (roundtrip flights).

A standard price is used for all passengers (380 euros), that is nearly a 40% cut.

Flights will depart from French, German and Italian airports to Tunis-Carthage and Djerba Zarzis airports.
