(TAP special correspondent Abdelaziz Ktata) – Received by Algeria’s President Abdelkader Ben Salah on Thursday at El Mouradia Palace in Algiers, Prime Minister Youssef Chahed handed him a message of friendship, brotherhood and accord from President Kais Saied to the Algerian people and its government.

In a media statement at the end of the meeting attended by Algeria’s Prime Minister Noureddine Bedoui, Chahed indicated that the Head of the State will visit Algeria in the next weeks, pointing out the interest lent by the President to the “solid and strategic Tunisian-Algerian” relations.

The meeting had offered the occasion to lay emphasis on the need to carry on joint action between both countries to take up joint challenges, notably those of security, Chahed stated.

“Both sides will also endeavour to foster the economic and cultural relations between Tunisia and Algeria,” he added.

Besides, the PM voiced optimism as to the future of bilateral relations, adding that “regardless of the times or the governments in Tunisia and in Algeria, the relations between both countries are deeply and forever rooted.”

Chahed was accompanied during this visit by Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and interim Foreign Minister Sabri Bachtobji and Minister Adviser to the President of the Republic Abderraouf Betbaieb
