Monument commemorating martyrs of terrorist acts: Chahed decorates triumphing designers

(TAP) –Caretaker Prime Minister Youssef Chahed, on Tuesday, decorated the winners of the competition for the design of a monument commemorating the martyrs of terrorist acts, during a ceremony at the Kasbah Palace.

Chahed stressed that this memorial is part of the government's commitment to preserve the national memory, to uphold the values ​​of citizenship and to pay tribute to the sacrifices of martyrs.

He announced the publication of a work entitled “Immortal Martyrs” which traces the lives of the victims, declaring August 21 of each year a National Day of Remembrance in tribute to the victims of terrorism.

Chahed praised the efforts of the security and military forces in the fight against terrorism, recalling the establishment of a national strategy to combat terrorism in 2016.

Sculptor Tahar Dhaoui won the first prize, while the second prize went to a group of women architects, awarded to Rahma Garrache. The third prize was granted to visual artist Saleh Ben Amor.
