Press conference the Prime Minister

Prime Minister Mohamed Ghannouchi held a news conference, on Monday, January 17, 2011 (4:00 pm) at the Government Palace, during which he announced the composition of the national unity government.
Prime Minister announced, the creation of three new committees:
They are:
  • The Higher Committee on Political Reform, chaired by Mr. Yadh Ben Achour.
  • The National Fact-Finding Committee on embezzlement and corruption cases, chaired by Mr. Abdelfatah Amor.
  • The National Fact-Finding Committee on abuses in the past period, chaired by Mr. Taoufik Bouderbala.
Besides, Prime Minister Mohamed Ghannouchi announced the decision to free all prisoners and detainees because of their opinion or their political activity.
He also said that a bill declaring general amnesty will be prepared to this effect.
Political parties and organizations requesting recognition will be recognized immediately, announced Prime Minister Mohamed Ghannouchi.
He also announced the immediate lifting of restrictions on the Tunisian League of Human Rights (LTDH) to allow it to defend freely all rights.
He also announced that the Association of Tunisian Judges can carry out its activity in all independence.
