February 16, 2011 - TAP - Minister of Planning and International Co-operation Mohamed Nouri Jouini conferred, on Wednesday February 16, 2011 in Tunis, with a delegation of the World Bank (WB) led by Mr. Simon Gray, Director of the Maghreb Department.
The talk provided the opportunity to review the Interim Government's priorities in the next period in the political, social and economic fields.
It also focused on the need to combine necessary conditions (democracy, transparency...) for the next elections and take urgent measures to improve living conditions, particularly in inland regions, in addition to the preservation of jobs and identification of new investment opportunities on the domestic and foreign levels.
Emphasis was also placed on the prospects for co-operation between Tunisia and the WB, more particularly in this delicate period, as well as on the need to establish long-term and short-term action plans, in such a manner as to meet the priorities of the transition period.
Mr. Gray expressed the WB's readiness to support the Tunisian people to help them achieve the objectives of the transition hoped-for at all levels.
