Religious Affairs Ministry condemns Polish priest's murder in Manouba

February 19, 2011 - TAP - After the murder on Friday of Polish priest Marek Marius Rybinski in Manouba, the Ministry of Religious Affairs condemned this crime and urged clerics and civil society activists to denounce such crimes and take determined action to avoid them happening again.
In a communiqué published on Saturday, the Ministry considers that Tunisia has always been a place of coexistence between races and nationalities and of dialogue between civilizations, religions and cultures.
In accordance with these ideals and the spirit of Tunisia's people great Revolution, the Religious Affairs Ministry reaffirms commitment to the principle of coexistence between races and nationalities and freedom of worship as regards belief and practice.
The communiqué also denounced any act likely to harm Tunisia's traditions of coexistence between races and nationalities and respect of freedom of worship and belief and deplored that such acts had happened in a country committed to the principle of respect for others and right to difference.
