The same source adds that these acts caused the burning of one part of the sectoral division of the Police-to-Aid neighbouring the ministry's premises and ransacking of the traffic police station, as well as another police station.
Groups of protesters also attacked and ransacked several stores, public property and private cars in the nearby streets.
The same source also said that the "Friday rally organized in front of the Interior Ministry was a peaceful demonstration when it began, then it degenerated into a violent one starting from 04:30 pm, when protesters attacked the ministry, snatched cobblestones and hurled them at the building, smashing windows.
Then, they broke into the ministry's parking lot where they set fire to several cars of law enforcement personnel, five vehicles of intervention units and personal cars belonging to the ministry's staff."
