Prime Minister confers with ITUC Secretary-General

March 8, 2011- TAP - "The Prime Minister has a clear vision of the urgent need for the country to resume work and further attract foreign investors", Mrs. Sharan Burrow, International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) Secretary-General told Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP) News Agency, after her meeting, late on Monday afternoon in Tunis, with Prime Minister in the Interim Government Béji Caid Essebsi.
"We are ready to provide support to Tunisia as far as International financial and governmental institutions are concerned, so as to help it in its efforts in matters of job creation, social justice and democracy for which the Tunisian people have fought", she underlined.
ITUC, said Mrs. Brawn, congratulates the Tunisian people who have been "a source of inspiration for the rest of the world," highlighting the role played by the Tunisian General Labor Union (UGTT).
"We are proud of the Tunisian Labor Organization, and we stand by them" said Mrs. Brawn .
The meeting was attended by UGTT Secretary-General Abdessalem Jrad.
