Written message from Interim President to Mauritanian President

March. 14, 2011 - TAP - Mauritania's President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz voiced "confidence in the Tunisian people's ability, thanks to their high patriotic sense and deep awareness, to overcome all hardships they could face, at this delicate stage" .
He expressed consideration for the reforms being carried out in Tunisia which, he said, are emanations of the Tunisian people's will.
The Mauritanian President made this statement when receiving, on Monday in Nouakchott, Foreign Affairs Minister Mohamed Mouldi Kéfi, as a special envoy with a written message from Interim President Foued Mebazaa.
During the meeting, the Foreign Minister briefed the Mauritanian Head of State on the latest developments on the Tunisian scene and the measures taken to preserve security and stability restore the rule of law and institutions and launch the democratic transition process on solid grounds.
Additionally, he highlighted solidity of the relations binding Tunisia and Mauritania, as well as joint keenness to further develop them, in the service of the two countries' and two brotherly peoples' interests.
He said that "Tunisia counts on all sisterly countries to side with it, for the sake of the success of the political and economic processes, at the present stage."
Besides, Mr. Kéfi had, on Monday afternoon, a talk with Mrs. Naha Bint Hamdi Ould Mouknass, Mauritania's Foreign and Co-operation Minister, which turned on the state of bilateral co-operation and prospects for promoting it.
