Béji Caïd Essebsi arrives in Algiers

March. 15, 2011 - TAP - Interim prime Minister Béji Caïd Essebsi arrived in Algiers late on Tuesday morning on an official visit during which he will meet President Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
Upon arrival at «Haouri Boumediene» international airport, the Prime Minister was greeted by Algerian Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia.
In a statement to the press, he said his visit in Algiers, the first one he is paying abroad since he assumed his duties, provides the occasion to discuss new prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation.
It will also allow to hold in-depth consultations between the two countries, especially in light of the new situation Tunisia has been living through since the revolution of last January 14.  Shortly after arrival, Béji Caïd Essebsi went to « El-Mithak » residence in Algiers for talks with his counterpart Ahmed Ouyahia.
The talks turned on the different fields of bilateral cooperation and on the available means and mechanisms to strengthen the excellent fraternal relations between the two countries.
The point is also to discuss means to boost economic partnership programmes for the benefit of the two brotherly peoples’ interests.
The Interim PM is due to pay an official visit to Morocco after his Algiers’ visit.
