PM : We are making every possible effort to free Tunisian journalist, detained in Libya

March. 22, 2011 – TAP  - Interim Prime Minister Béji Caïd Essebsi had a telephone talk on Tuesday March. 22, 2011 with Tunisia's Ambassador in Tripoli Slaheddine Jemmali about the situation of Tunisian journalist Lotfi Massoudi, who is working for satellite TV channel "Al-Jazeera" and has been detained in Libya a few days ago.
According to informed sources, the PM stressed the need "to make every possible effort and increase contacts with the Libyan authorities concerned to secure the repatriation of Lotfi Massoudi as soon as possible".
The PM reiterated as well ''total support to Tunisian journalists and communicators in the fulfilment of their missions both at home and abroad".
TV channel "Al-Jazeera" had announced last Saturday that the Libyan authorities had arrested in Tripoli a team of four journalists working west of Libya.
The team includes Lotfi Massoudi, Mauritanian journalist Ahmad Val Ould El-Dine and photographers Ammar Al-Hamdane (Norwegian) and Kamal Ataloua (British).
