March. 23 , 2011   -TAP - Tunisian journalist Lotfi Messaoudi , arrested and detained while working in Libya since last march 19, is expected to be released on Thursday, said Tunisia's Ambassador in Tripoli Slaheddine Jemmali after being given formal assurance on Wednesday, by a Libyan senior media official.
The Tunisian diplomat told Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP) News Agency over the phone on Wednesday that the Libyan decision to release Lotfi Messaoudi who is working for satellite TV news channel "Al-Jazeera" is "the result of exclusively Tunisian efforts."
The negotiations held in this regard, he added, "had been positive from the very beginning", which can only testify to the privileged relations between the two brotherly peoples.
