March 25, 2011 - TAP - Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini said, on Friday, that Italy is seeking to develop its co-operation with Tunisia "not only at the security level but also at the social one."
The head of Italy's diplomacy, who was accompanied by Italian Interior Minister Roberto Maroni, expressed his country's will to develop bilateral co-operation in migration matters. The point, he specified, is to favor social re-integration of Tunisian migrants so as to put an end to "the scourge of illegal emigration" to Italy.
Speaking at the end of his meeting with Interim Prime Minister Béji Caïd Essebsi, Mr. Frattini voiced Italy's commitment to contribute to the recovery of the development process in Tunisia.
This co-operation will particularly cover the sector of small- and medium-sized firms, vocational training, fisheries and tourism, the Italian FM further elaborated.
The meeting was attended by Foreign Affairs Minister Mouldi Kéfi and Interior Minister Farhat Rajhi.
