New governors sworn in

April 16, 2011 - TAP - The new governors were sworn in Saturday, during an official ceremony at Carthage palace, before Caretaker President Foued Mebazaa.
They are:
  • Bahaeddine Bakeri, Governor of Béja
  • Mohamed Hefdhi Mrabet, Governor of Bizerte
  • Nabil Ferjani, Governor of Médenine
  • Imed Touibi, Governor of Nabeul
  • Mohamed Faouzi El Jaoui, Governor of Sousse
  • Nabil Nsiri, Governor of Sidi Bouzid
  • Sadok Saïdani, Governor of Siliana
  • Mondher Yedes, Governor of Gabès
  • Salah El Sebi, Governor of Kébili
  • Mohamed Sahraoui, Governor of Kairouan
  • Taoufik Khalfallah, Governor of Gafsa
  • Amor Belhadj Slimène, Governor of Kasserine
  • Hassine Frej, Governor of Tozeur
  • Amor Chouchène, Governor of Tataouine
Mr. Mebazaa underlined, in an address delivered with attendance of the Interior Minister and all the governors of the Republic, the importance of the governors' role in regions, calling them to lend a listening ear to the citizens' concerns and find adequate solutions to help boost regional development in different fields.
He evoked the complexity of the transitory period the country is going through since the January 14 Revolution, urging the governors to strive to solve the different files under examination, notably unemployment and higher education graduates' employment.
He underlined that the governors' conference held Saturday in Tunis will provide the opportunity to better enquire about the Interim Government programme in various sectors and start a new stage targeting the reinforcement of fair development foundations.
