Switzerland willing to help Tunisia recover assets frozen in its banks

April 18, 2011 - TAP - Swiss Foreign Secretary of State Peter Maurer said his country is willing to help Tunisia recover assets of the deposed president and his family, frozen in Swiss banks.
During his meeting, on Monday, with Justice Minister Lazhar Karoui Chebbi, the secretary of State, who was accompanied by a high-level delegation, said that Switzerland stands with Tunisia after the January 14 Revolution.
For his part, Justice Minister laid emphasis on the need to help Tunisia get back money of the deposed president, his family and relatives, frozen in Swiss banks and speed up procedures for their restitution.
The meeting, which was attended by Swiss Ambassador in Tunis Pierre Combernous, also offered the opportunity to examine prospects for co-operation between the two sisterly countries in the next stage.
