Interim Prime Minister receives Russian Ambassador in Tunis

April 20, 2011 - TAP - Caretaker Prime Minister Béji Caïd Essebsi received, on Wednesday, Russia's Ambassador in Tunis, Mr. Andrei Pliakov.
The latter said that the meeting had been "fruitful" and had offered the opportunity to discuss the long-standing bilateral relations and means to further develop them.
He pointed out, in this regard, that the co-operation prospects between Tunisia and Russia after the January 14 Revolution are encouraging, particularly in culture, education, economy and trade sectors.
Mr. Pliakov added that this meeting had helped reassert the need to intensify tourist exchanges between the two countries during the coming period, announcing that the first flow of Russian tourists would arrive next week to Tunis.
