President of Swiss Confederation arrives in Tunis

May 1, 2011 – TAP - President of the Swiss Confederation Micheline Calmy-Rey arrived, on Sunday afternoon in Tunis, where she will chair a regional meeting of Swiss ambassadors in the Middle East and North Africa.
Mrs. Calmy-Rey was greeted at Tunis-Carthage airport by Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Radhouan Nouicer and the ambassador of Switzerland in Tunis, a journalist from TAP news agency reported from the airport.
During her visit, the President of the Swiss Confederation will chair the opening, on Sunday, of the annual regional conference of Swiss ambassadors in the Middle East and North Africa to be held for the first time in Tunisia, one of the members of the delegation accompanying the Swiss President said.
During her visit, Mrs. Calmy-Rey will meet with Interim President Foued Mebazaa and Foreign Minister Mouldi Kefi.
