Japan's special envoy for Middle East thanks Tunisia for solidarity with Japanese people

May 5, 2011 - TAP - Caretaker Prime Minister Béji Caid Essebsi received, on Thursday afternoon in Tunis, Mr. Yutaka Iimura, Japanese Government's special envoy for the Middle East.
Mr. Iimura told TAP news agency, after the meeting, that his visit to Tunisia aimed to extend his country's solidarity with the Tunisian people.
He also said that he came to see for himself the political situation in Tunisia, at this stage of democratic transition.
The Japanese Government's special representative thanked the Government and people of Tunisia, on behalf of the people of Japan, for their solidarity and the assistance brought to Japan after the major earthquake which hit his country.
Mr. Iimura said Japan is ready to develop projects and co-operation with Tunisia in several areas, such as employment, infrastructure and high technology.
