Mokhtar Trifi calls for keeping next July 24 as date for Constituent Assembly election

May 11, 2011-  TAP - Tunisia's Human Rights Defence League President Mokhtar Trifi called for the need to maintain the date of next July 24 for the election of the Constituent Assembly.
After meeting, Wednesday, Interim PM Béji Caïd Essebsi, he told Tap News Agency that the talks had allowed to discuss the security situation in the country.
He stressed in this regard the need for the police to comply with Human Rights basic standards through notably compliance with fundamental liberties.
Trifi went on saying that the meeting had also turned on several issues relating to the way things stand at present, calling for the need to reinforce the judicial authority which has to "carry out its mission with the necessary swiftness and efficiency".
