May 14, 2011 - TAP - Caretaker Prime Minister Béji Caïd Essebsi conferred, on Saturday in Tunis, with French President Nicolas Sarkozy's Special Adviser and Special Envoy to Tunisia Henri Guaino.
After the meeting, Mr. Guaino told TAP news agency that he had discussed with the Prime Minister "the best way for France to help Tunisia meet the challenges" it faces.
The meeting takes place in preparation for Mr. Caïd Essebsi's forthcoming participation in the G8 meeting, said Mr. Guaino. It reviewed "what the G8 can propose to Tunisia" to help it "deal with the difficulties it faces." "France is ready to help Tunisia by all means," he underlined.
The Prime Minister will fly for Paris next May 17 to meet with Nicolas Sarkozy, whose country has taken over the presidency of the G8 since last January.
The G8 Summit is scheduled for next May 26-27 in Deauville.
