May 31, 2011 TAP - "The postponement of the National Constituent Assembly's election date is an abandonment of the legitimacy of consensus", said "Ennahdha" Movement Chairman Rached Ghannouchi.
After the talk he had, on Tuesday, with Interim Prime Minister Béji Caïd Essebsi, Mr. Ghannouchi expressed the "Ennahdha" Movement's rejection of the idea of changing the date of the election which, he said, was behind suspending its membership in the High Authority for Achievement of the Revolution Objectives, Political reform and Democratic Transition.
In this connection, he called on the High Independent Authority for the Election to choose the path of consensus which, he said, "represents the unique legitimacy in the country after the Revolution", pointing out, in this respect, that this authority "has considered itself as a higher and absolute authority".
