Interim Prime Minister receives Romanian FM

June 16, 2011 - TAP - Interim Prime Minister Béji Caid Essebsi received, on Thursday in Tunis, Mr. Theodor Baconschi, Romanian Foreign Affairs Minister who expressed his country's readiness to support Tunisia in the reconstruction of its economy and its repositioning on the regional and Euro-Mediterranean region.
"I appreciate the courage of the Tunisian people who managed to topple a dictatorship without bloodshed", said Mr. Baconschi after his meeting with Mr. Caid Essebsi, stressing Romania's commitment to support Tunisia to ensure the success of democratic transition.
The aim of his visit, he specified, is to strengthen the economic relations between the two countries. He said that he is accompanied by delegation of 15 businessmen who have already met Tunisian businessmen.
"Romania can boost investment in both countries and strengthen co-operation in the fields of new technologies, agriculture, tourism and infrastructure", he also said.
The Romanian FM also met during his visit in Tunisia with members of the Interim Government, including Foreign Minister Mouldi Kéfi and representatives of Tunisian NGOs.
