Caretaker Prime Minister receives UGTT Secretary-General

June 20, 2011 – TAP - The consultation around the disturbance in some activity sectors and ways to find a remedy by means of dialogue and negotiations were the focus of the meeting that Interim Prime Minister Béji Caid Essebsi had, on Monday, with Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT) Secretary-General Abdessalem Jerad.
In a statement to Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP) news agency, Mr. Jerad said he had evoked with the Interim Prime Minister several issues pertaining notably to the social relations and the latest events in the Bir El Kasaa wholesale market.
"It has been agreed upon the need to find solutions taking into account the country's interest", underlined the UGTT Secretary-General.
He commended the Government's action methods and its approach opting for the consultation principle in the examination of the social issues, voicing the readiness of all parties to act in the interest of the country.
